![]() ![]() Ive tried using different programs on another Windows machine to make the USB bootable with Windows and tried 4 ISOs using different partition types (MBR/GPT) and it still wont boot. Automatically generates config files for PhoenixOS, Android, Ubuntu, Debian, Suse, Fedora, Manjaro, Mint, Clover and Windows. Currently I have installed Manjaro, but have access to GRUB before loading the OS, my USB is recognized, but it wont boot from it, even if I manually select it. ![]() The install also copies a few small boot modules to your EFI partition. Everything is installed to a single 20 MB directory on your Windows C: drive. Note that the EFI partiton isn't mounted in windows, and it's ok to write to the MBR record and do the partitioning. Grub2Win boots native GNU Grub version 2.06 code. how could the system detect vm guest accessing the EFI partition? It's a hard drive I/O but not protected memory access.I can't install EFI grub to the host drive, and X1 nano don't allow legacy boot.I can install legacy MBR grub booter, and success to boot in VM.I had installed Debian to the host ext4 partition, using Debian DVD installer within VirtualBox. ![]() I checked BIOS, and already turned off DEP (data execution protection). The VM paused due to error access to the EFI partition. So I have to use VirtualBox with write-through support to the host disk (there's only one M.2 SSD in X1 nano), to setup the Linux outside vm.Īnd everything go well, except the last step: install EFI grub. I don't have a Type-C USB hub, so I can't use USB stick or CDROM. I want to setup a GNU/Debian along with Windows 11 in my laptop Thinkpad X1 nano. ![]()
